Brief

As one of Westfield's newest luxury apartment communities, Revere draws inspiration from the city's rich history while offering a refined, modern living experience. The challenge was to create a brand that acknowledged Westfield's ties to the Underground Railroad with authenticity and respect, balancing historical significance with a forward-looking identity that reflects the community's contemporary character.

The brand was shaped through extensive historical research conducted at the Westfield Washington Historical Society and the Westfield Library. Archival photographs, documents, and typography informed a visual language rooted in local heritage. A 1907 elementary school grade book cover became the foundation for the custom wordmark, while its decorative borders inspired a system of graphic elements and a brand icon paired with a wax seal illustration. Together, these elements reference both the craftsmanship of the past and the community's modern colonial architecture. The logo lockup also echoes the shape of Revere's resort-style pool, creating a subtle connection between the identity and the physical environment.

A comprehensive brand system was developed to extend across every touchpoint, including logos, patterns, illustrations, brand guidelines, marketing collateral, signage, and digital assets. To further honor the project's inspiration, the color palette was named after individuals connected to the Underground Railroad in Westfield, recognizing the people whose courage and perseverance shaped the city's history while establishing a distinctive identity for the community today.
